(long story) hey i am a 14 year old male and wanted to share this to see if anyone had similar experiences. 2022 on new year’s day i had some close family over, and planned on doing mushrooms with them, i had chocolate mushrooms bars and i had eaten 6 peace’s and on the bag it had said “pe6 mix” idk what that means but whatever i ate 90% of the bar and sat on the couch and around an hour later another friend showed up and had offered me liquid lsd i turned it down as i’ve never done it and have a fear of doing it, she also brought dmt with her and had offered me it, i said no because i said that’s a little crazy o i’ve heard a lot about that and i don’t think i’d wanna try it, around 2 hours later i was tripping pretty hard from the mushrooms i ate and i seen her smoking the dmt and once again she offered, i said fuck it and got up, she gave me the lighter and said “stay calm take a deep breath and once you inhale it hold it in for as long as u can, i remember lighting the pipe and the second it hit my lungs i remember intense euphoria and excitement, i then blew the smoke out looked at her and said “woah” as her eyes had looked like pointy and green when before they were blue i remember looking at her and saying “hey *** this is to much i’m super high” she then says hey it’s okay sit down and relax enjoy the ride man there’s nothing u can do now so deep breath and chill out i remember sitting down and i looked at the floor and it started levitating and moving upwards but only the one spot of the floor i then remember seeing all kinds of colours and shapes moving around me and the music i was listening to was one of my favourite songs and i knew the lyrics by heart and i vividly remember the words “shifting and moving” if that makes sense it’s as if the words didn’t make sense and the music started to overwhelm me and i was hearing things the song changed into a different song every second and it was making me giggle but also anxious as i’ve never auditory hallucinated before i then looked at my arm and seen my veins gushing very slowly and it fascinated me, after this i then recall loooking at the wall and seeing mario coins floating, at this point i was overwhelmed and closed my eyes from this point on i remember seeing gold loop rings and i was flying through each and every ne of these rings i was flying at a rapid speeed and the rings never ended they were gold and pretty and i felt amazing i was so high like never before i then opened my eyes again after this wierd flying through space rings moment which felt like 10 years time had passed when i opened my eyes i noticed the dmt was wearing off and i started to come back to reality i remember feeling like wow i really just did that that was amazing i felt a sense of calm and peace like no other and that i could really accomplish things i remember looking at my frind and said “i have to pew but i can’t get up she said it’s okay take your time let’s go upstairs and u can pea” i remember it taking me a solid five minutes to get up and when i did. i noticed my leg was shaking uncontrollably i then went upstairs and looked in the mirror in the bathroom and see all kinds of colours on my face and felt insane feelings of happiness i then did my buisness and went back on the couch and finally realized i am still tripping and this is odd i then remember oh shit i took mushrooms earlier i then remember the mushrooms setting in harder then ever and i started hallucinating again and seen colours and everything looked like it was breathing and i seen people walking outside on the camera system and seeing colourful mushrooms on the tv that i knew weren’t they beofre and long story short i basically sat on the couch and didn’t sleep and felt extremly paranoid as i was tripping so hard i remember asking my aunt am i gonna stay like this forever she then said no ur just a kid that did too much dope lol and then i stayed up for a few days unable to rest even tho i stopped tripping after the first night had passed and my leg still unable to stop shaking this ended after i slept though this was six months ago now (sorry if it’s not written well it’s super late and i’m tired anyways i still think of this as a positive experience i love dmt and plan to try it again sometime soon all though i definitely ate too much mushrooms and was put off after the dmt trip ended i still enjoyed myself and had a great night and it was the biggest trip of my life and it felt fucking amazing

My mom passed away 4 years ago from cancer. I was her caretaker. I think she would find this reddit really funny. She had colorectal cancer and a great sense of humor. Anyway, my dad told her he wanted to get her in the room with a therapist and show them why the reason her kids are all f’d up is because of her and then she would {not live} and when she did he’d spit on her corpse and say: “good the scum is dead. F the scum.” By this point, after going through a great deal of abuse, body shaming, etc from him, I was an adult and had been going to therapy since I was 16 for EDs and depression. So I finally told her about how he’d been abusing us and she decided to leave him. My dad threatened to screw us over if my mom divorced him, he blamed me. He got fired intentionally so he wouldn’t have to pay child support. My sisters who were still teens had to pay for their own braces and chip in for rent. When mom died my dad wanted to be back in our lives and I agreed to spend time with him. He visited us in CA, he lives in FL. Claimed he’s changed. We went sailing and to vegas. It was ok. I was just trying to be nice. Then one day he got angry at my Facebook post he didn’t agree with and demanded I take it down. I refused. He then began debating about it. Claimed my mom would agree with him and said she was the love of his life so I reminded him of what he said to her. It got pretty ugly. His sister joined the fray to say I was disrespectful and need to get therapy for my issues. He begged me to promise never to tell anyone about the past in public. Then he posted saying he missed his wife and how they had a beautiful, loving 25 year marriage. I couldn’t take the fake-ness so I blocked him so he can live in his delusion.
So it’s mom’s birthday now, he sends a text to all the siblings: “Happy heavenly birthday, Susan. I can’t wait to see you up there. Thank you Jesus.” I told him to never text me about my mother or I will block his number and thanked him for respecting my boundaries in the future. He said he would pray for my restoration. Then told me he didn’t understand what went wrong after all the dinners, vacation, sailing. He thought we had a new future. I told him it was the FB incident. He said I need to get help to forgive him for those things he did over 15 years ago then said I need to call my uncle Steve and Ed Moss, his pastor who he has been counseling with for years. He says I’m the one who needs to get help and all of my mom’s family is on his side and then my sister started sending links for therapy. I will not talk to his counselor. He is probably not even licensed. I had a past therapist who thought I’d benefit from a family session. She referred me to a counselor. He became completely charmed by my dad and said he was such a great guy. I shut down. Could barely talk. I was devastated. Dad was always really good at being ingratiating.

Another classic with a great, engaging storyline. WIP

I thought it would be a good idea to "review" the latest album. It has been two days now and I believe I finally understood what I like and what I don't. It would be nice if everyone could jump in with their The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
The Good
It is a good album, with some highs and some lows (see later). The highlight to me is Sozos' performance. I saw GH live twice since he had joined, and I always had the impression that he was somewhat "struggling" with old songs written for another singer, and said I was sure he would be amazing on songs written for his register. I was happy to hear that I was right, with one exception: Sword Lord of the Goblin Horde (more about it later). I love the lyrics and the story, and the references to previous songs both in the lyrics and the riffs. As I said in another post, Maleficus Geminus is among the best songs by GH, and the best on this album. Brothers of Crail is my favourite, very epic and melancholic.
The Bad
I can't find any song I don't like, but it's hard to find a song I really like and would make it to my GH playlist with the exception of the two above. The singles are catchy and cheesy, and I am sure they will be crowd pleasers (I can't wait to go bonkers over the synth parts of Wasteland...), but it feels like they lack the GH-factor. The other songs feel a bit derivative and rather generic power metal, which is not necessary a bad thing, but I expect something different from GH. I was shocked to hear Sword Lord of the Goblin Horde for the first time, I thought I had accidentally switched to my Sabaton playlist; which wouldn't be a bad thing, again, but I feel like this is not a song where Sozos's voice can shine. And here is also the song where the the major issue of this entire is more evident...
The Ugly
... the production. This is a metal album and I expect it to sound heavy as fuck. However, while you can hear every single instrument, there is very little impact and oomph. This may work well on more poppy tracks with lots of synths, but songs that require some aggression (see Sword Lord of the Goblin Horde) sound flat. I said it immediately when I heard Keeper of the Celestial Flame, the song felt somewhat weak. I am sure that these songs will kick ass live, but on record they lose a lot of energy. I wish the production could be more like Apocalypse 1992, a bit less polished but more ballsy.

This guy was rapping on "From the D to the A" instrumental by tee Grizzley on the back of a boat only lyric I can remember is "I keep the metal rounds on my hand like a fidget spinner". Typical 2016 typa lyric but if I can just watch this freestyle one more time I can rest.

My wife is currently looking for therapists in the Las Vegas, NV area who are understanding of the trauma caused by growing up having to associate with TSCC. Does anyone have any recommendations for good ones in our area? Thanks!

I've been lurking on here for a while and been able to run gamecube and ps2 games from the megathread. However, PC games are confusing. I've downloaded Fallout New Vegas Ultimate edition, extract the file as usual, but from there, I can't seem to launch it.
There's a "setup" application in the ISO which I've clicked on followed by "installing new vegas." However, it's trying to update steam and fails. I've looked around this sub to see if anyone else has issues, but can't seem to find an answer.
Hope this made sense.

Beyond just being a really catchy and fun song, Y.M.C.A., released in 1978 by the Village People, is best known as a sort of anthem for gay men. During a time when it was still considered very socially unacceptable to be gay, this song encouraged gay men to embrace their true selves and be their own men, regardless of social norms levied upon them. This was a reflection of the Y.M.C.A. itself; since many gay men were homeless due to being disowned or kicked out by their families, they found a new place to live at the Y.M.C.A.
On a larger scale, I think it’s an under-appreciated song that deals with men in general getting the help they need. As is often discussed on this sub, there is a tragic phenomenon of men being left behind by society. Between homelessness, suicide, and the prevalent feeling of worthlessness, plenty of men are sitting at rock bottom. I love the song Y.M.C.A. because it portrays the Y.M.C.A. as a place where despondent men in need can rebuild their lives. Whether you’re “short on your dough,” you’re “down and out with the blues,” or you “feel no man cares if you were alive” (all lyrics from the song), it’s a place for you. Because you’re a man, and men have value as people.

Hello! I've been lurking through the posts on this page for a while now, and I finally worked up the courage to post something that I've been wanting to get out there. A few notes before the actual query: this is a completed work and I'm hoping to start submitting queries soon. I've written two works (books) before this one, but I didn't have much luck with any agents or publishing, so I'm hoping this work makes it out of the query trenches. On your wishlist, you mentioned that [Personalization], so I hoped that I could request you as a literary agent.
Going Greek (approximately 98k words) tells the coming-of-age story of Vega, a slacker junior year college student floating adrift between her two loves. The first is a childhood love: the ocean. She spent the majority of her life enchanted by the ocean, even choosing to major in marine biology when she went to college, until a traumatic event the summer before her freshman year made her hate the ocean. The second love is a new flame: a girl named Briar, Vega’s very own sorority Cinderella, who shares a kiss with her at a party before disappearing into the night. Desperate to chase down Briar, Vega attempts to join her sorority in order to spend more time with her. Even though Vega’s original plan doesn’t succeed, she adapts by joining a different sorority, though she’s very apathetic towards it. When a night of raucous partying and a drunken rant ruins her plans with Briar, Vega is forced to face the consequences of her actions. While she struggles to deal with her academic life and her personal relationships, Vega comes to realize that her sorority sisters are more than willing to support her when she needs it the most. As Vega slowly begins to embrace Greek life, she finds that it’s making her into a better person, helping her find love, and allowing her to rekindle her love for the ocean.
Overall, the book reads like a slow burn rom-com that has themes of sisterhood, dealing with trauma, and growing as a person. Even though I’ve never joined a sorority, I’ve always had a great respect for them, as there is something very special about a group of women navigating through their college life together. I even wanted to take it one step further and add a romance between two sorority girls into the mix, which I feel like should be a topic that is explored more in media. I’d love to see more WLW representation in rom-com popcorn lit, so I’d like to add Going Greek alongside Casey McQuiston’s I Kissed Shara Wheeler and Kelly Quindlen’s Late to the Party, both of which have similar vibes to what I’ve written.
I am 22 years old and have just graduated from [University Name] with a major in marine biology and a minor in English. While my publishing experience is lacking, my adoration for reading and writing fuels me to pursue the possibility of expanding myself into the world of literature.

I remember playing this on my sister’s pc on a website (probably one of those websites that has like tons of flash games). And I really enjoyed and played it for like 3-4 days after I lost the link.
Now fast forward to now. A friend suggested to ask you guys to find what game it was. So I’m giving it a shot
Although I have kind of have a vague memory of it. These are the things I can remember of it.
I played it on a website so it’s probably a flash game
The menu had a dark background colour and probably has a rice like pattern metal sheet texture with it like this
You can play as two monster truck-like vehicles. A Red one and A Blue one. One or both of them had blacked out rims (or maybe had no rims at all)
the only map I know is a desert with rocks and the sky was maybe yellow (like the Divide from fallout new vegas: lonesome road)
It played similarly to like a mobile game called hill climb racing
I’m not sure but I think it was 3D. Like you could see the front of the vehicle. Probably one of the handful of flash games I played that was like 3D
Again I’m not so sure about this but, the road that the trucks goes through has no ground and it’s only support was poles (not like a bridge or something, just a road held up by poles) although idk if it’s only for the map I mentioned before

Hey! I’m from New York now living in Austin and I hate it with a passion. Id like to move here as it’s cheaper than NY and there’s work opportunities in the category I’m interested in. Anyways what I’m most curious about is how the community is. Are people social? Outgoing or rude? Is it fast paced or slow? Are there raves/ dance clubs/ sex clubs/ goth clubs etc. or mainly just casinos, bars and performance clubs? Is outdoor activity like exercise and sports popular? Are there places like malls, amusement parks Skating rinks etc (Whether in the city or a little bit outside) Im a woman in my young 20s and I have a sorta 90s “club kid” style and energy level. Is vegas a city that kinda sees everything so they won’t judge or will I be bombarded by rude people? I’m trying to find a place that has an accepting view towards creative/ taboo stuff with a fun energy level so that I can meet really nice cool people and not be bored out of my skull while simultaneously affording to not be homeless. I don’t see why I’d have to ask for this but please don’t be sarcastic on this post. I’m just trying to weigh pros and cons about where I should go, find my place and enjoy life like everybody else. For many K-Pop companies, song credits are divided into at least two categories: "Lyrics" and "Composition" (or "Music"). So, for example, for "Artificial Love" by Exo, "Lyrics" are credited to JQ, Ji Ye-won and Seolim, while "Music" is credited to Timothy Bullock, Adrian McKinnon, Jeremy jasper and MZMC.
And on the official credits listings of KOMCA, the Korean Music Copyright Association, there is similarly a divide between "Lyrics" credits ("A" credits) and "Composition" credits ("C" credits).
HYBE, on the other hand, don't do this (except for the former Pledis groups). Instead, all of the lyricists and composers are credited together as part of a single "Writers" credit. So, for example, for "Boy with Luv" by BTS, the "Writers" are credited as Pdogg, RM, Melanie Fontana, Michel Lindgren Schultz, Bang Si-hyuk, Suga, Emily Weisband, J-Hope and Halsey - without a clear distinction between lyrical and composition contributions.
And on KOMCA listings, all of those individuals receive both "A" and "C" credits.
Now, there are a few logical reasons why HYBE might do this. One is that there isn't necessarily a clear distinction between composing lyrics and composing the melody; when a rapper develops the flow for their verse, isn't that arguably both? And another is that the "Lyrics" and "Composition" division used by some other agencies is sometimes a division between the writers who wrote the original English song (the "composed by" credit) and the writer who wrote the Korean lyrics (the "lyrics" credit) - so Amber doesn't get a Lyrics credit for "Goodbye Summer", even though her rap verse is entirely her own work, because she co-wrote the original English demo. The credits used on Key's solo albums - "Korean Lyrics By" - are arguably fairer.
But I still wish HYBE would follow the same crediting practices as other agencies. HYBE's practices lead to very long and convoluted credits lists, making it harder to determine who wrote what or to identify how artists have participated in the songwriting process. (We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal has 16 credited songwriters.) Sometimes, the lyricists can be inferred from who the credited artists are. (The only Korean-speaking credits on We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal are RM, Suga and J-Hope - so it can be fairly inferred that they wrote the Korean lyrics.) But listing all the writers together just creates a confusing mishmash.
If anything, artists' contributions to the process may be clearer if there's a division between lyrics and songwriting credits - because if an artist was the principal lyricist, there is a recognised way of identifying that.

I learned to sing For Lovers by Lamp and the lyrics are so poetic and meaningful, but i feel like my translation of it would've been completely different and literal had I not looked at an official interpretation. How do I begin to understand how someone is saying something, and not just what. Does anyone have any additional resources/poetry I could look at?

Genius translation: "Because the season I like is a short thing. It melted away without me noticing. Alone in this moving scenery. I stand still and think of you."

Does anyone know the meaning of this song? When I look it up I can’t find any info about it, I know obviously the general gist but I would like to know a deeper analysis of the specific lyrics. Especially, ”if I were 17 would you think of me meanly?” Like what specifically is he implying by saying that?
