This is my first time venting here so I hope I'm doing it right and not breaking any rules. I didn't figure out that my mother has npd for at least thirty years. Five years ago, I thought maybe she had borderline personality disorder because she would self-harm and threaten/attempt suicide several times during my childhood and later on during adulthood. But one thing my mom would do is repeatedly try to pit my siblings and I against each other and when I tried searching for that on google, the results showed that this behavior of hers is associated with npd and not bpd. So she probably has npd with comorbid bpd or something to that effect.
So three weeks ago, my elderly Nmom called me on the phone and I'm making small talk with her because it's impossible to have deeper conversations with her. So I'm talking about the weather, the local news, whatever, and she mentions to me that her brother (my uncle) is worried about her health and he offered to fly her over to his home in Alberta so that she can have extended family look after her health. So I said "oh that sounds like a great offer. It would be great for you to have better health care." And then out of nowhere she very casually says "yes it's great. Because all four of my children are terrible. None of them do anything to help their sick mother" and I was just like "....... ??????" I didn't respond because my blood was boiling. I'm not giving her the satisfaction of yelling at her anymore because it only feeds her "poor me" victim narrative. And honestly I'm just fed up of yelling at her. It doesn't do anything. It doesn't change her. It's like yelling at a brick wall. It's my blood pressure going up so really I'm only hurting myself by giving into her anger bait tactics. Ten years ago, I lost my temper with my mother during an argument and called her a "bitch" and she started self-harming right in front of me while repeatedly calling herself a "bitch" and it was a traumatizing experience for me personally. When I told this to a therapist, she suggested that I call 911 whenever my mom does something like that, but the thing is she did the same thing over a decade ago when arguing with my oldest brother and what's scary about it is that she would come over to me after the argument and try to convince me that my brother gave her those cuts and bruises and that she's considering filing a police report against my brother. She's cold-blooded nightmare. I'm sorry, but I'm not calling 911 if she's going to pull some DARVO move on me.
Anyway, so today she showed up at my apartment unannounced even though I've told her at least dozen times in the past that she can't appear unannounced because it's rude. I was taking a nap when she showed up and buzzed my apartment intercom system. I went downstairs to the lobby and told her, very calmly I might add, about how she can't show up unannounced like this and that she needs to call me on the phone before visiting me. She went all quiet and left so I thought, ok I guess that went well. Later in the evening I receive a phone call from her and she's crying on the phone, telling me that she's in the hospital now and she's begging me for my forgiveness. And I'm thinking... wtf? All I did was calmly ask you to respect my boundaries and you're self-harming because your fucked up brain interprets a respectful request as abandonment? I know she's self-harming and putting herself in the hospital purposely because she's desperate for attention and she wants her kids to swoop in to become her rescuecaregiveparental figure again and my siblings and I are sick of her dramatic bullshit.
It's 4am and I should be sleeping, but my anxiety is keeping me awake.

Although this is a very convoluted proposition and has many subsets of it, including the affect societal things that helped perpetuate sexism has had on men, how religions around the world have advocated for or against such in varying ways, and how the complexities of alternate cultures of the past make it hard to properly tackle misogyny through a modern lens, my general want is slightly more narrow.
Again, such is a global phenomena that has occured around the world very differently in an amalgamation of different cultures, forms, and time periods, each of which could've influenced one another making the full context more essential. However, our modern understanding and iterations of misogyny is the most recent amalgamation of all the culteral and societal development that has came prior, which, and forgive me if I'm wrong, means major establishments, cultures, and civilisations has had at least one major contribution to the more recent forms of misogyny following globalisation.
This means that what I'm asking is what are the key milestones and establishments that have had a massive change or impact on how sexism or specifically misogyny has appeared throught history leading to its many presentations and defenition or the modern age can be loosely identified and pin pointed.
The historical events shouldn't be "in the sense that because X thing was significant in history and contained misogyny it has to be mentioned", in case you were wondering, moreso if X thing in history was significant and it's popularity and the culture it created or expanded had a massive impact on a big change of the scope or content of what misogyny was that would directly be responsible for aspects of it in the modern day.
Almost in a similar sense of how (for example) one would list the Renaissance as a really significant event in the evolution of Christianity as it was an important factor in the reformarion and forwarding of the the enlightenment, not because it was just an important culteral shift in European history and should therefore be mentioned because it was big.
So what would a general historical timeline charging the evolution of culteral misgoney look like?

To put it simply, I would like things to run better and quicker.

Hey! Has anyone ever heard of Far800 and know how to contact them? I’m from canada and I paid express shipping for a cosplay from Uwowo. The tracking site is in full Chinese so i’ve been forced to google translate everything and apparently it was out for delivery on the 2nd but the delivery failed? I live in an apartment and i was awake and home all day, i never heard anything but now my tracking says they left a message for me to contact them? There was no email, no text, no phone call and no note anywhere near my suite or in the lobby of the building. Here's the thing: I work in a company that is going through some changes. I don't want to out myself since I'm just asking as a random reddit dude but anyways....
The company I work for is going to need strong people with a passport and a clean record. These extra guys are all going to have to lift at least 50 lbs over their heads. My ideal candidate would be 23 to 30 years of age, passport/clean record for international travel, not a drug user, and able to accept 27-30 an hour understanding that per diem and overtime will have them making roughly 70k a year on your w2 but your compensation/take home pay would be closer to 85k. In the last year I've been to half of Europe and we're getting too many orders to fulfill. 2024 is already blocked out.
I'm only asking on this sub because the management of my company is not construction based. We build systems for customers and nearly all of upper management have degrees in mechanical engineering or software development. I've spent 2 years in construction and I just wish that I could steal 4 of the union guys or 2 of the tower climbers I've worked with but that's a good way to get your tires slashed if you poach anyone on a jobsite.
So as the title suggests: how do you find someone in construction without knowing anyone directly? My current job moved me 100 miles from my previous one two years ago. The guys I'd like to follow me from my old job have families and homes in a state they like better. So all my leads are essential done.
I'm not asking for applications in my DMs I'm asking how does the construction industry find people that are not references?

heya peeps, no better place to put this( i think so, I'm new to Reddit)....idk how to begin and how to end...well about the end part, I'm a 14yo girl (i think) and my life is miserable, abusive family(not towards me but to my sister and tbh it also hurts me cuz u can't help) I pushed all of my friends away because I'm scared of looking for professional mental health help and I've been taking it out on them, have been sh for nearly a year now (although it is inconsistent) and the idea of drungs/cigarettes has been getting rlly badly to me. So with that out of the way, I've been having suicidal thoughts for quite sum time...maybe a month...and i attempted it once so idk...i feel like I'm hopeless and that i don't matter to anyone.
On the other side, I have sum rlly good friends, we don't chat sm and idk if they would be considered friends, but they mean the world to me, and I hate the idea of taking my life away just because of them, i owe them everything. I did get help at some point but my way too interested in ny life parents that are also abusive(in ny eyes at least) and life seems to be getting a better turn...I had a week where I hung out with one of my dearest persin ever, she literally made my days and school is kinda over (there were some problems with the teachers and the government so we got 1 week free but will have to go 2 more weeks to school) and some health issues I've had are just going away(2 months and ½ late period finally came, i was worried cuz i also has pregnancy symptoms and tbh there was no way it could have gotten there)
This was mainly a vent, but advice/kind words or maybe someone to rlly talk to would be much appreciated

I (16 f) have a cousin (23 f) we’ll call her C. So some back story, me and my cousin have been super close since I was born because she doesn’t have any siblings and me and my brother (13 m) are her only cousins, so we’ve been super close and in the begging 2022 we had a falling out about something petty and we finally started talking again in September of last year because of a school project that she was helping with, so me and my dad went out there in October of last year and spent 2 weeks there, we got super close and then a few months later we moved there as my dad bought a house out there, we lived there until moving back to where I’ve grown up. Now to the actual story, so basically my cousin likes to talk a lot of shit, she’s has even talked shit about her own sons who are (1 m and 2 m), so she said to me ‘I’m not happy your dad is staying with us because I don’t want to be his house wife’ and I found that funny because when we lived there I took care of her kids/ cleaned and my mom cooked for them every night so I just laughed it off a few nights later I told my mom because I thought it was funny, my mom told my dad so my dad told my grandma and my grandma asked her about it so then she stopped talking to me. About 3 days ago I cut my hair short again because I haven’t cut it for 5 years and I was super excited, she didn’t answer so I told her how it upsetted me, she got mad at me and I sent her a really long text because I hurt me because we were so close together and another thing that made me snap is that anytime my parents think I have something like adhd and autism which I’m getting tested for this month so she keeps saying that she has autism but won’t get tested because she says her kids will get taken so I finally snapped at her but now I’m feeling sorta like TIA so am I?

I am so fucking sick of tip culture. Ever since Covid it has gotten worse and worse.
So many places near me default at 25% at a minimum. It takes me no effort to not tip, but that's not the point. If I don't tip on a pick up order, I get looked at like I just committed high treason or some shit.
You didn't do anything. You just handed me my bag. You weren't even the one who cooked the order, or did anything else. You were sitting there scratching your taint and watching tik tok ( I fucking saw you) and then you just hand me my bag of food and get huffy cause I didn't tip you 25 percent?
Kiss all of my ass. The flipside is at the rate this is going, all these companies are going to do is just piss off enough people that it is going to affect their bottom dollar so there will either A) be a rollback to normal tip ranges, B) they pay their workers fair wages or C) they go under.
Any of those are feasible. I am sorry your employer is shit, but you are on some serious hopium if you think in any reality that handing me a bag of food necessitates 25% on a $50 order.
Like, eating out is already a rarity for us, so it's not a major loss, but it's still sad that this is where things are now. Just businesses trying to see what they can get away with at the expense of their customers.
