So this didn't happen recently but I know it's happened to most of us at least once or more. The solution to it is payment upfront I've realized that a while ago.
Let's say you collect payment after the work is completed which is what I used to do and sometimes still do for repeat customers knowing they're gonna pay.
So theoretically let's say you did an all keys lost situation all the information was fine you made them a key programmed it the whole nine yards and whatnot and at the end they decide they do not want to pay or do not want the key for some reason. Another good example would be they find their key after you've finished making the key and they don't want the new one and refuse to pay.
The question here is when you didn't or don't charge upfront on a job what do you do when they refuse to pay after completion? In the past I've just thrown the key away or with universal keys I throw the blade away and reuse the rest of the remote key or transponder head etc ..
This hasn't happened me to in a while because I charge upfront now but back when I didn't I would get screwed over by various jackwagons refusing to pay after a jobs done once in awhile.
Other than walking away and cutting the loses what else have you all done before in a situation like this?
Lockouts are obvious you relock the car before walking away same with akl you keep the key and walk away I guess but what else could really be done that isn't a huge waste of time over $100-300 worth of service

I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with Honda Financial. I leased a car recently, probably my 4th over the past 15 years albeit haven’t had a loan in 5 years. I got a 30 day late reported to my credit on day 31. I wrote a Goodwill / dispute letter to them and their decision is “pending review”.
1) I filled out an ACH authorization at the dealership so I thought this was enough but they claim that’s between me and the dealership, I guess my bad I assumed incorrectly.
2) Despite the customer service rep saying they’ve mailed out statements (I don’t think they were looking, rather making up dates), I had never gotten one. The rep said they don’t control USPS.
3) Never called till after 30 days but said times and dates they called and voicemail messages left - again, no they didn’t.
4) They claimed they called my employer and spoke with HR. That’s funny because I am my employer.
I wrote a letter - not strongly worded but stated my points. Was never rude to the call center agent but I get it, they are bashed all day by other people.
Yea contractually I owed them but a statement isn’t beyond reason and assumption that it would be auto drafted.
Do you think I have a case?

2023.06.04 20:13 Weirfish [Modpost] Coordinated Moderation Action regarding Reddit's API update.

As some of you may already know, in its lead up to an IPO in the second half of this year, reddit is making some significant changes to its website.
One of these changes, among many, is the monetisation of reddit's third party API. The monetisation of this API is expected to cost approximately £12,000 per 50 million requests, which is astoundingly high. The creator of the third party reddit app Apollo expects this to cost $1.7mil a month for their app, a figure which has been corroborated in scale by the developers of Reddit Is Fun, and Narwhal.
Apollo's developer compares this to $166 for the same number of calls to Imgur, which is lower by two orders of magnitude.
Apollo's creator's post goes into the most granular detail on this, but the general consensus is that this is a ridiculous price that acts not to cover the cost of the API, its requests, and its ongoing development, but rather to tacitly shut down third party apps so that reddit's first party app (which is generally considered to be of significantly lower quality than all significant third party apps) is the only one that can afford to supply the platform.
In addition to this, the API will also only be able to provide an inferior service compared to third party apps, by restricting what kind of content is available via the API (and thus via those third party apps).
This is a problem for a number of reasons.
  1. Third party apps have much better moderation tools.
  2. Third party apps have much better accessibility tools, especially for the visually impaired.
  3. Third party apps allow you to control, at least to a certain degree, the adverts you a served and how and where they are served.
  4. Third party apps have almost universally better UX/UI than reddit's app.
  5. Third party apps tend to be lightemore efficient than reddit's app.
The long and the short of the problem is that reddit is muscling out superior products by leveraging their market dominance in the pseudononymous persistent social media space, to the detriment of the people who actually use reddit.
To protest this, there is a coordinated effort from subreddit moderators. Many moderators rely on third party API-driven tools to do their moderation appropriately, and almost every single one of these tools will be forced into retirement, and can only reduce the quality of moderation on the website.
I should be clear that I do not do any moderation via mobile app, so this change is unlikely to directly affect this subreddit. That said, (and while I don't want to sincerely compare this to WW2), there is something to be said for collective action for allies' causes. Further, while I do not use third party apps for moderation, I do almost exclusively use old.reddit.com, which is looking at the API on the chopping block while sweating bullets.
Last time a coordinated moderator effort of this size was enacted, we did not go dark. While /3d6 has grown beyond what I could have hoped for when I started moderating this space, it has never been, and is not currently, a particularly public, /all -y subreddit, so the impact of our individual protest would have been minimal, and I considered /3d6's potential use as escapism more valuable to those affected than said impact could have been.
That said, the way this is shaking out, this particular issue is more of an existential threat to the subreddit. So this time, I want to open this to community consensus. So, I have two questions, and one request.

1. Is it appropriate for us to go dark in protest of this change to reddit's functionality?

2. Is there another appropriate method for this subreddit to protest this change?

And my request; please don't use reddit for the 48 hours of June 12th and June 13th. If we don't go dark, I will be here for moderation purposes, but if we do, I will be taking a break for the period.
Finally, please remember rules 1, 4, 5, and 10. Don't be a dick, don't insult reddit staff members, etc. There is plenty to criticise without debasing the argument with ad hominem.

Hello, everyone. Hope you're doing well. Amongst of a variety of things my anxiety has been through the roof as of late. One thing in particular goes around and around in my mind. Outside of drinking anyway. Which is definitely starting to affect me. So I got pumped up with pabrinex and IV fluids. Had to be sober before speaking to the mental health team. I had to keep asking for librium. It took a while for my blood alcohol to go down. I kept telling them I wasn't acting intoxicated and this is nothing for me. But they didn't seem to care. Ultimately not much came of the mental health team and I was given some shitty numbers for services I've been hitting my head against a brick wall with for years. And sent on my merry way and told to cut down on my drink. Unfortunately this always happens. You hear this go to ER detox stuff all the time, but people don't realise certain countries don't do that. Thinking about suicide but probably won't go through with it. Just feel so lost.

‘Terra cognita kit 3’ is not sold in the country where I live. This means that to buy this anniversary special edition, one need to pay a high shipping fee and possibly extra customs duties, not to mention a very long waiting time. This also makes the bonus cards inside very scarce. For me, I especially want a goldenglow bonus card (the one drawn by namie), but from the current market price I may need to spend 200-300 US dollars to buy it, which is far more than the price of the anniversary special edition itself. In fact, even if you are willing to spend so much money to buy it, you probably won’t be able to buy it, because the number of bonus cards is too small, let alone the specific type I want. Recently I saw an auction of Thorns’ bonus card on an auction website in my area, and the current price has reached about 600 US dollars. This is not because it is really worth so much money, but because there is no one else willing to sell it, making a few people who are particularly eager to get it bid crazily. Making an update post as some had requested and to light someone’s day and spread some positivity.
The Preparation: I followed the recommendations received in the earlier post. A huge shoutout and thanks to u/Dikkatbadhihai for your recommendations. I was wearing an ironed white shirt, no blazer haha, sleeves folded, sky blue jeans and white sneakers. I used a nice perfume I had. I carried the custom bouquet (consisting sunflower, lily, orchids, rose and tuberose), a Kit Kat and Pune’s special delicacy i.e., ‘Bakarwadi’. I also had two wine glasses with me and a bedsheet so that we could sit and watch sunset while sipping some wine if possible.
The meet: I reached early and was waiting for her at a food court in the mall. Plan was to pick her up from there and then go to ‘Seawoods’ mall to have a lunch together at restaurant recommended by a friend. She arrived, we greeted but didn’t do a side hug or something, we were figuring out whether to stay in same mall or go to the next. We decided to proceed as planned. We had trouble locating my car in parking and had to ask around a little bit. By now I was bit worried that the start wasn’t smooth and the hot weather was adding to our woes of getting comfortable with each other. Once we located my car, I swiftly moved ahead, took out the bouquet and presented it to her. She went from a surprise reaction to shying a little and eventually blushed. I got to capture all her reactions in my mobile. Then we headed to the next mall. While on the way, I played the 2000’s hit songs from Spotify as recommended. She started humming along with songs and it did set a romantic tone.
Lunch part of the date: We reached Seawoods and headed to food court. By now we became very comfortable like we were on our video calls. We were walking very close to each other and almost touching. My wrist watch was hitting her hand all along when we were walking in the mall but she didn’t allow me to remove the watch. She located a toy store on the way to food court and bought a cute small captain America bobble head for me to put on my car’s dashboard. By now we were getting touchy with each other. We zeroed on a place to eat and I paid and ordered as she is usually not much decisive. She really liked the chicken seekh kebabs. I was cutting the kebabs into small bites for her to eat and she was trying to stop me from doing it. I took some of her photos before the food arrived, with food and while eating. She was resisting in a cute way but was being a sport and enjoying it. After lunch, we decided to head towards the car. Near the lift, I saw the gaming zone. I asked her to just to go and check it out. We went in and inquired about the bowling alley but there was half an hour wait, so we cancelled. Here I felt I should hold her hand and I went for it and we did. And then onwards we were holding hands all along. Before going to the car, she bought Cinnabon for me to take home as she had told me about it and wanted me to try.
The evening – purely majestic: We headed to the jetty ride in Belapur for the sunset boat ride. The weather was hot and she was yearning for some cool breeze all through the day but it was eluding us all along. We boarded the jetty, sat down and had some water and after a while went on to check out the boat. We found a small place near the engine with two chairs. We could see everything from there so instead of sitting at the regular place with others we decided to call that place ours. We had privacy there but people were coming once in while there as part of the boat tour. Now we were holding hands and leaning our heads onto each other and enjoying the view. The boat started after a while and we started experiencing the breeze. We were now holding each other by the arm. We took some photos of the surrounding in our own mobile. Afterwards I asked her for her phone and went on to capture our photo and she obliged and we took some nice photos alongside each other. After sometime the boat slowed down and we got to see the flamingos near the shore and we tried capturing those adorable birds from distance. Then we went to the front part of the jetty to watch sunset. An extremely romantic vibe was just waiting for us. The sunset was about to happen. A nice cold breeze was flowing, the sky was clear, the red-hot sun was fully visible, a plane was flying in one corner of the sky, flamingos were there on both sides of the sea, in the distance Mumbai’s skyscraper and the under-construction trans harbour link road was visible, some birds were flying over the sea, a few fishing boats were visible too. I was holding her by the shoulder, we were looking at each other once in a while and taking in all the beauty around. For the first time in my life, my heart was satisfied. We stood there till sunset and took some really nice photos together. Once the boat turned, she took me to the back of the boat where we were from start. The night was setting in and we were holding each other close now. After a while once the people moved to the main area and we had privacy, she looked back, came very close and approached for the kiss. We kissed and it was long, intense and passionate. Just purely magical. I had never felt this kind of euphoria all my life. Everything was just surreal. We kissed again before the jetty reached the shore. We got down, walked towards the car holding hands and I jokingly gave her the credit for deciding to go for the jetty ride.
The goodbye – We just had a perfect evening and now we wanted to get some nice chai. We decided to just drive around the palm beach rode and see if we can find a chai tapri. We found a chai place after a while and asked him to make two kadak adrak chai. We sat down nearby and enjoyed the tea. We were exhausted now. We both being introverts, our social battery was now down. We enquired about a park nearby and went there and sat silently on the bench for some time. The park was getting closed, so we moved out. We found a pani puri stall and shared one plate. It was already late and I had to travel back too. So, I decided to drop her to a nearby station so she could head to her home. When we reached the station, I gave her the flower bouquet. The cab was booked and waiting. She was holding the bouquet in one hand and my hand in the other and we walked till the cab. I opened the door and helped her get in the cab and asked her to call me once she reached home. We hugged and she gave me a kiss and got into the cab and we waved each other goodbye. For next one hour, we didn’t communicate much and were just contemplating the entire day. She called me after reaching home. I was still driving back home. We laughed and talked about the day for next one hour till I reached home. Our conversation went on even after reaching home until we realised it’s too late and we should call it a day.
I feel I am really lucky to have lived this wonderful day. Just wanted to share my experience of the date as some had requested and thank people for helping me out.

Well, I just want to buy famous models with standard or famous colorway without shit show. Just it. Just I want to come to website and buy it in one click, without any additional effort or hustle. Just like I want to buy a bottle of water. But it's not possible. Nike making shitshow from each release, making impossible to buy shoes which I want. As a Nike customer, I don't want any problems, I just want to buy any numbered Jordan without hustle, but Nike can't even do it. I like Nike shoes (quality, design and comfort), but I'm not a sneakerhead, I just want to buy good shoes, that's all. Looks like Nike can't make it so simple.

Ordered a some drinks and some medicine for my sick kid and the dasher kept marking my items out of stock, including my chosen replacements. I got frustrated and cancelled the order because what’s the point if I have to go to the store to get everything myself. The store they were at had all of the refunded items in stock (I was there maybe 5 minutes after I cancelled the order). DoorDash doesn’t automatically refund cancelled orders so I had to also contact customer service to get the order refunded.
