The McDonald’s near my job always has this one homeless dude who begs for money, right during my 2nd coffee break. I always give me a dollar or two but shit, that’s like $300-$500/year just to him. So now I just drive half a mile down the street and get dunkin. Is that weird?

This is my first time venting here so I hope I'm doing it right and not breaking any rules. I didn't figure out that my mother has npd for at least thirty years. Five years ago, I thought maybe she had borderline personality disorder because she would self-harm and threaten/attempt suicide several times during my childhood and later on during adulthood. But one thing my mom would do is repeatedly try to pit my siblings and I against each other and when I tried searching for that on google, the results showed that this behavior of hers is associated with npd and not bpd. So she probably has npd with comorbid bpd or something to that effect.
So three weeks ago, my elderly Nmom called me on the phone and I'm making small talk with her because it's impossible to have deeper conversations with her. So I'm talking about the weather, the local news, whatever, and she mentions to me that her brother (my uncle) is worried about her health and he offered to fly her over to his home in Alberta so that she can have extended family look after her health. So I said "oh that sounds like a great offer. It would be great for you to have better health care." And then out of nowhere she very casually says "yes it's great. Because all four of my children are terrible. None of them do anything to help their sick mother" and I was just like "....... ??????" I didn't respond because my blood was boiling. I'm not giving her the satisfaction of yelling at her anymore because it only feeds her "poor me" victim narrative. And honestly I'm just fed up of yelling at her. It doesn't do anything. It doesn't change her. It's like yelling at a brick wall. It's my blood pressure going up so really I'm only hurting myself by giving into her anger bait tactics. Ten years ago, I lost my temper with my mother during an argument and called her a "bitch" and she started self-harming right in front of me while repeatedly calling herself a "bitch" and it was a traumatizing experience for me personally. When I told this to a therapist, she suggested that I call 911 whenever my mom does something like that, but the thing is she did the same thing over a decade ago when arguing with my oldest brother and what's scary about it is that she would come over to me after the argument and try to convince me that my brother gave her those cuts and bruises and that she's considering filing a police report against my brother. She's cold-blooded nightmare. I'm sorry, but I'm not calling 911 if she's going to pull some DARVO move on me.
Anyway, so today she showed up at my apartment unannounced even though I've told her at least dozen times in the past that she can't appear unannounced because it's rude. I was taking a nap when she showed up and buzzed my apartment intercom system. I went downstairs to the lobby and told her, very calmly I might add, about how she can't show up unannounced like this and that she needs to call me on the phone before visiting me. She went all quiet and left so I thought, ok I guess that went well. Later in the evening I receive a phone call from her and she's crying on the phone, telling me that she's in the hospital now and she's begging me for my forgiveness. And I'm thinking... wtf? All I did was calmly ask you to respect my boundaries and you're self-harming because your fucked up brain interprets a respectful request as abandonment? I know she's self-harming and putting herself in the hospital purposely because she's desperate for attention and she wants her kids to swoop in to become her rescuecaregiveparental figure again and my siblings and I are sick of her dramatic bullshit.
It's 4am and I should be sleeping, but my anxiety is keeping me awake.

We were friends from rehab over 7 months ago. We both got clean and were doing so well.
He called me 3 days ago asking how I was doing on my sobriety, I replied I am still clean and he said awesome so am I good talk. Called me 1 hour later saying he was back on blues and asked if I could get him some. I offered him detox, suboxone, methadone and called over 20 friends to help him out. I told him he is going to fucking die and to please stop.
Nobody listened.
Yesterday I received a notification that he has been dead in his apartment for over two days.
I was the last person he talked to.
Why the fuck would somebody go back to fentanyl of all things after 7 months clean. For fuck sakes do some pharma pills or fake an injury at the hospital if you’re that desperate. Hell even take a suboxone strip.
Fuck fentanyl. It’s so god damn evil. 15 years ago it wasn’t this bad. Sure you would have people on the streets spending all their money on heroin or pills but at least they didn’t die. At least they had a greater chance of getting their shit together.
He was only 23 years old. He had the money. He has the bombshell girlfriend. He had the nice car and house. He literally had everything. Fentanyl took it all in less than 10 minutes.
Please get off that stuff immediately. Trust me, life gets so much better once you’re clean for months. The withdrawals don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Just cold turkey and get on suboxone.

Hey! Has anyone ever heard of Far800 and know how to contact them? I’m from canada and I paid express shipping for a cosplay from Uwowo. The tracking site is in full Chinese so i’ve been forced to google translate everything and apparently it was out for delivery on the 2nd but the delivery failed? I live in an apartment and i was awake and home all day, i never heard anything but now my tracking says they left a message for me to contact them? There was no email, no text, no phone call and no note anywhere near my suite or in the lobby of the building. If anyone knows how i can contact the courier company i’d really appreciate it, I’ve emailed Uwowo customer support but i won’t be hearing back until monday. My mom passed away 4 years ago from cancer. I was her caretaker. I think she would find this reddit really funny. She had colorectal cancer and a great sense of humor. Anyway, my dad told her he wanted to get her in the room with a therapist and show them why the reason her kids are all f’d up is because of her and then she would {not live} and when she did he’d spit on her corpse and say: “good the scum is dead. F the scum.” By this point, after going through a great deal of abuse, body shaming, etc from him, I was an adult and had been going to therapy since I was 16 for EDs and depression. So I finally told her about how he’d been abusing us and she decided to leave him. My dad threatened to screw us over if my mom divorced him, he blamed me. He got fired intentionally so he wouldn’t have to pay child support. My sisters who were still teens had to pay for their own braces and chip in for rent. When mom died my dad wanted to be back in our lives and I agreed to spend time with him. He visited us in CA, he lives in FL. Claimed he’s changed. We went sailing and to vegas. It was ok. I was just trying to be nice. Then one day he got angry at my Facebook post he didn’t agree with and demanded I take it down. I refused. He then began debating about it. Claimed my mom would agree with him and said she was the love of his life so I reminded him of what he said to her. It got pretty ugly. His sister joined the fray to say I was disrespectful and need to get therapy for my issues. He begged me to promise never to tell anyone about the past in public. Then he posted saying he missed his wife and how they had a beautiful, loving 25 year marriage. I couldn’t take the fake-ness so I blocked him so he can live in his delusion.
So it’s mom’s birthday now, he sends a text to all the siblings: “Happy heavenly birthday, Susan. I can’t wait to see you up there. Thank you Jesus.” I told him to never text me about my mother or I will block his number and thanked him for respecting my boundaries in the future. He said he would pray for my restoration. Then told me he didn’t understand what went wrong after all the dinners, vacation, sailing. He thought we had a new future. I told him it was the FB incident. He said I need to get help to forgive him for those things he did over 15 years ago then said I need to call my uncle Steve and Ed Moss, his pastor who he has been counseling with for years. He says I’m the one who needs to get help and all of my mom’s family is on his side and then my sister started sending links for therapy. I will not talk to his counselor. He is probably not even licensed. I had a past therapist who thought I’d benefit from a family session. She referred me to a counselor. He became completely charmed by my dad and said he was such a great guy. I shut down. Could barely talk. I was devastated. Dad was always really good at being ingratiating.

My girlfriend and I played through BOTW together. We had separate save files. She'd backseat game me a bit but otherwise things were good between us. I ended up finishing the game and DLC and she did not. To her credit, she was good at the game. She was great at parrying guardians and fighting Lyonels, and she'd usually be playing with minimal armor on.

This time around she suggested a joint save file. Take turns playing. I didn't think anything of it at the time. It turned out to be pretty messy. She constantly ordered me around at first, and our instincts on the game regularly clashed. She would be right about things just as often as I would, and it started making me bitter whenever she'd play. Things got better as we continued, however.
One of her projects for the game was to take a photo of everything in the compendium herself - no buying photos from Robbie. I tried hard to fulfill this, considering some enemies disappear for good once you beat them, or once you progress far enough. I managed to get photos of all the weaker enemies that may stop spawning like in BOTW. I forgot a few times but it's usually no big deal since most enemies come back. I think there's 1200+ photos to take, 500+ being enemies.
Well. I just finished Master Koga's quest line. I forgot to grab a photo of him. She blew up at me so I turned the game off, told her to make her own save file. we were playing the game on my account. But playing like this has made it unenjoyable. I don't know if I want to continue.
She's the breadwinner, a software engineer. It's her tv, her switch, her game. I have a switch lite and a few other consoles. I've been struggling to rejoin the workforce ever since COVID hit. We caught the virus 3 times (another person who frequently visits is...unsanitary). The third time hit me real hard. I don't know if long haul COVID is real but I haven't felt the same since. I am trying to find ways to get better.
Anyways I don't know what to do with this game. Part of me wants to just stop here. I'm sure she has mixed emotions as well.

Here's the thing: I work in a company that is going through some changes. I don't want to out myself since I'm just asking as a random reddit dude but anyways....
The company I work for is going to need strong people with a passport and a clean record. These extra guys are all going to have to lift at least 50 lbs over their heads. My ideal candidate would be 23 to 30 years of age, passport/clean record for international travel, not a drug user, and able to accept 27-30 an hour understanding that per diem and overtime will have them making roughly 70k a year on your w2 but your compensation/take home pay would be closer to 85k. In the last year I've been to half of Europe and we're getting too many orders to fulfill. 2024 is already blocked out.
I'm only asking on this sub because the management of my company is not construction based. We build systems for customers and nearly all of upper management have degrees in mechanical engineering or software development. I've spent 2 years in construction and I just wish that I could steal 4 of the union guys or 2 of the tower climbers I've worked with but that's a good way to get your tires slashed if you poach anyone on a jobsite.
So as the title suggests: how do you find someone in construction without knowing anyone directly? My current job moved me 100 miles from my previous one two years ago. The guys I'd like to follow me from my old job have families and homes in a state they like better. So all my leads are essential done.
I'm not asking for applications in my DMs I'm asking how does the construction industry find people that are not references?

First post; will try to be as brief as possible.
People will maybe hate/definitely judge me for this, but it is what it is. I lost my job here in Bangalore and have been jobless since the last 6 months. Tried really hard but couldn’t find one. I have 5 months of pending rent, and I can’t pay it. I really want to but I can’t. I got no friends to ask money from, no family members except my mom who I have to take care of. Few doors which I had are closed. Basically my whole life has been a s*@tshow for some time now.
Now I have fled the house where I resided(Couldn’t think of anything else). There was no rent agreement drafted for the tenancy. Used to pay the rent through GPay which has some of my banking details. I will pay the amount to my house owner once I get a job, be it today tomorrow or 5 yrs later. But for now how do I get myself off the grid? Because he had earlier threatened me with police action. I don’t any such things to come to my doorstep, for my mom is old and frail. She won’t be able to handle it. And she’s all I have. Any suggestions as to how to save myself till the time I pay him the amount.
Kind request - Plz suggest viable solutions. I’m going through a lot; also battling suicidal thoughts. For those who might say how do I have money for my phone data, answer is “using wifi from an acquaintance”.
TL;DR - No money for rent. Have fled the house(No rent agreement). What to do to stay completely out of reach from house owner myself until the time I pay him back the amount. He’s not ready to listen to anything and is kinda violent.

Had my first experience with LSD last week, 115ug, and it was amazing. Had mild visuals, but sank into all sorts of little details around me, and I heard music differently than I ever have before.
Gonna be getting 10 more tabs of the same stuff here soon. What's a safe dose to jump to? Would 450-500 be begging for trouble? Don't want to be inebriated and on another plane of existence, just want to sink a little further than I did last time. But I don't want to give myself a bad experience that'll turn me away from using it again.
Do I need to be very gradual with it?

one of the many great things about this game is there are so many metas, based on player count, player style, player competence, and which expansions are mixed in.

For me, at 2P vs an engine obsesses wife, I've always been a Terraform rusher and think the game at 2P just works best with base & prelude, no expansions (apart from maps) and not even promos. The most dense deck where terraforming isn't buried. YMMV.

There are so many creative ideas for expanding and customizing the game, here's a list of the things which appeal to me and which I'm "working on" (I mean I have notebooks filled with scientific research articles and publications and ideas for how they might get into a card in the game), please share your "wishlist"

These are not specifically in order

1. generally, extra cards or features that enrich terraforming. To me, rushing makes the game run a reasonable length, without overstaying its welcome, without it getting out of control, less card luck influence and less likely to be decided early on but drag on for far too long
   
2. cards linked very tightly to a real scientific idea or concept, so using real science that would theoretically be possible and also reasonable in terms of viable to scale up to a production scale item or idea, considering how a realistic political/economic/scientific environment would work (aside: I am a physicist)
   
3. extra maps / milestones / awards, yes I know the ones we have are designed as complete ideas and I know the designers are not fond of mixed bag/variable M&M, but personally for me I am most gutted that the customizing mars kit on gamecrafter got pulled the day I had it in my basket :( Variable milestones and awards are cool (driven by a ruleset that avoids clashing/incompatible combos) but a jigsaw style set of pieces to make a variable map would be amazing (again, I understand the designers specifically want Mars to be Mars - in which case, lets take some different projections of Mars (not yet shown),and combinations like half Tharsis/half Hellas etc.
   
4. More interaction but not necessarily "take that". Now, don't get me wrong, I like the attack cards and also understand their position in balancing or competing against specific strats. My wife didnt like them at first but has grown to see how they are needed. And interaction is good (also the THREAT is often as effective as the action, which is why tempo moves to convert plants, or not leaving energy you need for a city hanging etc, and managing global parameters is important). But I'd like to see more "Leeching" style interaction, more cards which give you something if someone else does some other thing. Philosophically more cards like Arctic Algae where some other player would do some terraforming type action and you would get some related bonus.
   
5. More board placement. I like when placing tiles is more important in terms of claiming areas, blocking areas, messing up areas for other players. Perhaps some cards which "seed" stuff onto the board as bonusses which could then be claimed etc. I also think it would be interesting to be able to move some tiles in some way (throwaway idea like paying something to "relocate" a city, or rerouting an ocean. Also tiles which would make placing other tiles or greeneries, oceans etc easier (or harder)
   
6. Common events. This is kind of just pulling in ideas already in the game, so it would be something like Turmoil with a display of coming events (which in my head would be mostly terraforming stuff) which affected parameters or locations but wouldnt benefit any individual player, they would provide a kind of modifier to the game clock I suppose.

heya peeps, no better place to put this( i think so, I'm new to Reddit)....idk how to begin and how to end...well about the end part, I'm a 14yo girl (i think) and my life is miserable, abusive family(not towards me but to my sister and tbh it also hurts me cuz u can't help) I pushed all of my friends away because I'm scared of looking for professional mental health help and I've been taking it out on them, have been sh for nearly a year now (although it is inconsistent) and the idea of drungs/cigarettes has been getting rlly badly to me. So with that out of the way, I've been having suicidal thoughts for quite sum time...maybe a month...and i attempted it once so idk...i feel like I'm hopeless and that i don't matter to anyone.
On the other side, I have sum rlly good friends, we don't chat sm and idk if they would be considered friends, but they mean the world to me, and I hate the idea of taking my life away just because of them, i owe them everything. I did get help at some point but my way too interested in ny life parents that are also abusive(in ny eyes at least) and life seems to be getting a better turn...I had a week where I hung out with one of my dearest persin ever, she literally made my days and school is kinda over (there were some problems with the teachers and the government so we got 1 week free but will have to go 2 more weeks to school) and some health issues I've had are just going away(2 months and ½ late period finally came, i was worried cuz i also has pregnancy symptoms and tbh there was no way it could have gotten there)
This was mainly a vent, but advice/kind words or maybe someone to rlly talk to would be much appreciated

Throwaway account as my wife also uses reddit.
Background We are married for 23 years, and my mum always did not really like my wife, but as we are overseas we don't see my parents often so they managed stay cordial until recently.
Recently though, everything changed. My sister is looking after and stays with my mom (dad passed away last year). They have a summer holiday house, and also had a flat as their permanent residence. The flat though, was deemed to have faults so they received a notice to get it demolished and rebuilt.
I also had an investment rental flat in the same city, so I offered them our unit to stay until things are sorted. We gave a notice to our tenant and my mom and sister were going to move in.
At the same time, they sold another property they don't use, and with the money bought a new flat.
Here is the complication:
Instead of moving out of my and my wife's rental, they decided to rent the new flat to my sister's boyfriend. They really like the boyfriend as he helps them out quite a bit, helped find this new flat, and was kicked out of his own rental at the same. So my mum thought it would be the right thing. My mum also said she thought this is the right thing as we don't really need the rental income.
I don't actually need the rental income, and even though I thought it was a bit odd, since she is my mum and quite elderly, I thought I will let this and didn't object. Being quite elderly with lots of health issues, it is hard for her to move in quick succession. My mum is 80+ and has a few issues with mobility, along with severe asthma, and a few other things. My sister is around 55 and she doesn't work. They both receive a modest pension, which is barely enough for day to day expenses.
My wife however thought this was unfair, and since they bought their own flat they should move there. I asked her not to talk directly to my mum, and to leave this to me as my mum is always defensive when it comes to money matters, I feared their relationship would be damaged. She did call my mum directly, and it escalated from there, there was a huge fight, things were said on both sides.
This was about 4 months ago. Initially I was very upset at my wife to raise this directly as I knew this would happen. Daily life and work is stressful enough and at least home should be peaceful. Since then I thought the best way to handle this was to compartmentalise this, I would only speak to my mum on occasion and wife/mum would have no contact. They have no contact at the moment. I speak with my mum and sister, but it is a bit strained quite often.
That sounded the best way at the time but I can see my wife is still very resentful of the whole situation.
Further complicating this, is my wife's mum now also has to vacate her house. Due to some legal issues (they very stupidly signed a document making them liable when investing in something done by a scam artist, and now her house could be taken by a bank due to the actions of the scammer). So the lawyer advised she should sell the house, and and move in to another one bought with the money, though the new house will be in her daughters' name). My mum in law has also been diagnosed with Alzheimers few months ago, and my dad in law also passed two years ago, and we want to do the right thing by her.
So, currently my wife wants my mum/sister to vacate our rental, so her mum can stay there while looking for a new house, once her house is sold.
My mum and sister see themselves as the victims, and get very defensive about the whole thing when discussing. They do not at all see themselves at fault. They have some vacant country acreage inherited from my dad, and we now put these on sale so hopefully they can get another flat for themselves to live in. My mum/sister don't pay rent now, but said they will once they get some money from these sales (they have a very low income).
Now, I am in a sticky situation. I don't really want to force mum to vacate and would rather if she moved at her pace. At the same time, we also need to help my mum-in-law.
An option I will float by my wife is to find a rental for her mum to cover the period when buying and selling. We can pay the rental costs, though I suspect highly she will see this as appeasing. My wife though is also very icy about the whole thing and just wants my mum to vacate as soon as possible.
TLDR My wife and mum got into a huge argument, stemming from the fact that my mum stayed in our rental flat even though they didn't have to. Now my wife wants them out so her mum can stay there for a few months. I don't want to force my mum out involuntarily, and wife sees this as hurting us.
