Clarity League is a Europe-based Dota 2 community centered around giving players of all skill levels the opportunity to experience competitive play - in a safe & inclusive environment at that. If this appeals to you, read on and find out how to join for Season 8, the signups for which close in 11 days!

How does it work?

Players register individually, rather than with premade teams. They are then drafted onto their teams for the season (think fantasy sports!). It's first come, first serve - if you sign up early enough and make the cut, you are guaranteed to be drafted and get to play, no ifs and buts.
Seasons are split up into divisions, with 8 teams in a division. Higher divisions are higher average MMR, so you'll face opponents closer to your skill level. We do mean what we say about all MMRs being welcome - last season hosted players spanning from 250 MMR, to 10500 MMR (neither of those are typos!).
Season 8 is a two-stage tournament: the Group Stage spans 7 playdays, determining seeding for double elimination playoffs, which are played across 4 playdays. With two playdays per week, the max total duration of the season is just over 5 weeks (June 27th - August 3rd) - with more details on the schedule being available on the league Discord server, in the #calendar channel.
Once play starts, you play two series a week - same days, same time, each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 20:00 CEST), with BO2s throughout the group stage, and BO3s in the playoffs (with a pair of BO1s in the lower bracket) - no scheduling struggles, with play exclusively in Captains Mode. All you have to do is sign up, show up, and play some Dota!
We also run an inhouse league - see the #inhouse-info channel on the Discord for more info - though keep in mind it's not always active.

FAQ

How do I get started?
For starters, join the Clarity Discord Server - we post all updates and announcements there. The registration link - as well as every other important link - can be found in the #information channel on Discord, as well as in recent updates in the #announcements channel. Check the playdays in #calendar, and if they work for you, register using the signup form (taking care to read the descriptions on the questions).
How does this work?
Once you're sure that you can play every matchday (based on the #calendar channel), use the Sign-up Form to register for the season. Later on - during the activity check period - you'll receive a Discord message to confirm you're still able & willing to play. Pay close attention to DMs - Discord may hide messages from admins as Message Requests!
When the player pool is confirmed, we host Player Drafts. Again, think fantasy sports - captains bid on players to create their teams. We hold one draft for each Division, and the player pool for each Division is made up of players that remain in the pool upon the completion of the previous draft.
Once all teams are finalized, you join your team's Discord server and on June 27th, you play your first series with your team. You and your team coordinate matters like in-game roles, potential practice sessions, and gameplanning.
Can I play if I'm [x] MMR?
Yes! The only MMR-related requirement we have is that your MMR is calibrated, and - ideally - that you remember your MMR from before patch 7.33. Players of all skill levels participate in Clarity League every season - the current MMR spread for Season 8 spans a range from 900 MMR to 9900 MMR (and we've had both lower and higher in past seasons!). Seasons are also split into divisions, so players will generally face opponents closer to their own skill level.
Can I play if I’m not from Europe?
You can, yes - but keep in mind that every single game will be played on European servers, and the schedule is crafted with European players in mind. Nevertheless, we’ve had players from NA and SEA participate - just make sure you’re comfortable with the playtime and what will likely be higher ping, if you decide to participate from another region.
Is there a prize pool?
No - introducing money to amateur environments largely serves to incentivize cheating, and we just don’t see the value in doing so.
Do our matches get casted?
Some of them do, yeah! In the past about 1 in 4 of all series are casted by community members, and we organize casts for the Grand Finals of each division every season. We also welcome up and coming casters to join the community if they're looking for games to cover!
I'm unable to make it to one of my matches! What do I do?
Teams are allowed to replace one player from the roster with a temporary standin. Using any more than that will result in a forfeit loss, and missing too many matches will likely result in a ban from the league - so don't register if you're guaranteed to miss matches.
I can't play every matchday, but I still want to participate. Is there anything I can do?
Absolutely! Once you join the Discord server, you can keep an eye on the #standins channel - if a team is missing a player, they'll need a temporary replacement, and that's where you can help them out if you're around that evening. You can also give our inhouse league a try, featuring auto-balanced teams and a leaderboard, all hosted from within our Discord - or you could simply join to hang out in the Discord, and stay up to date on future events that might fit you & your schedule better!

When I try to start the game, it crashes on startup with a white rectangle in the top left, and the window is named "dx11 (cooked) (not responding)". Sometimes I get to the title screen but when the game receives any input, it crashes.

doing some chores the other day, I go into my mum's room and see 2 cards (one for me and my two younger brothers, the other one for my disabled dad that is supposed to read him) and a voice recorder. After listening to the recorder out of curiosity, I discovered she was leaving the family house for 10 days but decide to leave it as I had to go to work. The next day, she texts me saying I'm allowed to open the cards and as I do so it reinstates she's going away for 10 days and to not worry about her. My dad's card says only he is supposed to listen to the voice recordings and "enjoy the time with the young adults". The audacity to tell us through a card with flowers on really annoys me too. My parents have never really had a stable marriage, they regularly argue which results in slamming doors but recently my dad has been trying more. With this knowledge, I realize her email is connected to my laptop so I go looking and find flights abroad with another man (This other man has called my mum's phone multiple times and she always says "It's none of your business"). She has now gone away with this mysterious man and no one knows who it is. My older brother has been messaging, asking her why she left three teenagers alone with a dog and their disabled dad alone and she responds by saying how she deserves to go away and that we will appreciate her more when she comes back (she is now ignoring everyone's messages). could this mean she's cheating on my dad? do I tell her that we know about this other guy? ps she also comes back a day before her birthday meaning she expects presents and cards when she comes back from this "alone" holiday.

I did a one-month rotation in March 2023 with Dr. Usman Khan at HCA Houston Northwest and EPIC Heart and Vascular Center and got total exposure to cardiology in all its aspects. Dr. Khan is a beautiful human being and a great mentor with a passion for teaching and helping IMG doctors. The office staff was really kind and helpful. Everyone was friendly and easy to get along with.
I was exposed to a wide diversity of common cardiac and peripheral vascular presentations seen in an inpatient and an outpatient setting and learned how to manage these patients in an acute setting and their long-term management.
In the outpatient setting, a typical day consisted of visiting patients one after another and working on EMR, which made me aware of my weakness and developed my strengths. Seeing patients independently at the clinic helped me develop my history-taking, physical examination, and communication abilities. The patient population I was exposed to ranged from patients with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, sarcoidosis, and diabetes to patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, and lower extremity pain. I developed my counseling skills by advising patients on lifestyle modification, diet, exercise, and smoking cessation. I also learned how to emphasize the importance of medication adherence to patients by educating them on the mechanism of action of their medications in simple terms. I was also exposed to patients presenting with vascular pathologies. I performed a complete examination of the lower extremities, counseled patients on the conservative management of varicose veins, and observed novel procedures such as Varithena, VenaSeal, and Radiofrequency ablation.
In the inpatient setting, I also got the chance to watch interventional cardiology procedures performed, such as peripheral vein angiography and cardiac catheterization, and I learned how to recognize when procedural intervention or medication treatment is necessary. Dr. Khan appreciated how I carefully examined each process and asked intelligent questions. Dr. Khan always took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure's indications for each patient, the observations made during the intervention, and the results obtained. During these procedures, I also learned about a method used in interventional cardiology that measures the degree of stenosis in affected vessels using FFR.
Throughout the externship, I had the chance to improve my ECG reading abilities by discussing several ECGs with Dr. Khan each day. Under Dr. Khan's guidance, I could also recognize the outcomes of echo scans and nuclear stress tests. In addition, I gave a talk on "Short-term risk stratification of nonflow limiting coronary stenosis by angiographically derived radial wall strain" and "Angiographic quantitative flow ratio-guided coronary intervention (FAVOR III China): a multicentre, randomized, sham-controlled trial." During that talk, I explained how patients with high radial wall strain can be diagnosed early from the risk of myocardial infarction and the role of quantitative flow-guided ratio.
By the last week of the externship, I had the opportunity to strengthen my mentoring skills by guiding the new batch of medical students. I guided them on how to use the EMR, organize their notes, and approach patients in a cardiac setting. In the cardiac catheterization lab, I mentored them on critical anatomical landmarks, pressure measurements of the heart chambers, and the indication for intervention while the doctor was performing the procedure. I reflected on what Dr. Khan taught me regarding ECGs, echos, arterial and venous ultrasounds, and nuclear stress tests, and I taught them how to read and correctly identify pathologies on each test. Overall, the experience was comprehensive and well-rounded, and by the time it was through, I felt highly secure in how I would treat a cardiac patient. I improved my clinical and teamwork abilities and medical knowledge and expertise.
It was a comprehensive experience that covered all aspects of a top-notch externship. Dr. Khan will ensure you get the most out of your rotation, improve any weaknesses, and prepare for the residency. 2023.06.04 18:39 EngineerFront8876 PVC’s all of a sudden

Hi, first time post so please be gentle.
So yesterday I ended up going to the ER with fluttering sensations in my throat and down to my sternum area, I am taking trandalopril for high blood pressure and it’s been under control for quite some time, I checked my BP which was fine but was showing the irregular heartbeat sign - iwatch was also showing inconclusive multiple times in a row.
ER tells me it’s PVCs and it’s nothing to worry about - all results on bloods etc are fine - I’ve actually had full cardio work ups this year and last all normal - echo tests - PAT / Stress etc again all fine.
I’ve been exercising better for the last 18 months and lost about 50lbs, I walk 5.5 miles every day with my dog at a decent pace (about 16/17 mins a mile) - I rarely drink and don’t smoke or drink anything with caffeine.
ER gave me some metroperol but it hasn’t really done anything, still having the PVCs today - I’ve never had these before and it’s honestly scaring me to death
Just after some tips / help on how to deal with this, got a family vacation too Disney in just over a week and I’m worried about that now.

I am a 22 years old male and my girlfriend is a 20 years old female. Couple of days ago while we were playing a guessing game, I was drawing different things to back of my girlfriend with my tounge. I started drawing a laughing face first and while trying to guess she said "Is this a racist sign?" I said no and we continued on with our game. Since he said is this a racist sign to my first drawing somehow swastika came to my mind I mindlessly drew it to her back. Now here I must say that like very sane person I believe the nazis were evil of the evil and what did they do can never be justified. I never drew to any public space before and I will never do in the future. After she couldn't come up with the true answer and after I said what was it she snapped.
I am Turkish and she is Polish. I am a little bit less sensitive and if it was drawn on my back I lugh laugh and at most say "wtf". But she got really angry and started saying why did you drew such a thing to my back and we started arguing. Of course I was sorry and I said to her "you are completely right and it was bad of me to do such thing I am sorry." She went on to say something about men in general which made me a little angry but it will be a long story to tell here.
In the end we agreed that I was wrong and the arguing, even though it was a little bir heated at one point, resulted kindly as all of our aruguments usually end. But I was thinking she over reacted a little bit. I was thinking it was a game and even though they were evil it does not mean they didn't existed, so I was thinking there is nothing wrong to do that in a guessing game. Am I the asshole?

Every weekend up until now for the last like 2 years, I have scoured my healing skin for new blemishes and have restarted the healing process that my body worked so hard to go through that week. Each weekend, I cope with the stress of my job and mental health issues by attempting to pick my face to perfection. I did it this weekend too, but I say “up until now” regardless because today I make a change.
The result each weekend is that I look sicker than ever. Unwell and in pain. The guilt is the strongest thing I’ve ever felt. The only thing I can compare it to is the same guilt and shame I felt with binge eating. I have skin picked all my life, but never have I done so as compulsively and ritualistically as I have been doing now at this stressful time in my life over the last 2 years or so throughout grad school and beginning my career.
I have clearly picked up replacement behaviors (binging being one of them, others being substances, masturbation, food rituals, etc) along the way as I’ve grown up, but this one has stuck with me and only gotten worse over time.
After lots of picking yesterday, I began my weekly healing journey today with washing and bandaging. Tomorrow I will go to work attempting to cover what I can, embarrassed but knowing with each day the shame and spots will decrease a bit more and more. By the weekend, I know I will essentially be good as new on the outside. Though usually on the inside I am about to break from holding it all together.
And this time, whether it happens or not, I am going to plan to avoid picking again on the upcoming weekend. So I can break this cycle. And I also will plan to give myself grace if I slip up. Because at some point I may. But that doesn’t discount all my efforts to heal.
No matter how many times I have picked myself back up and fallen back down again, I have not stopped getting back up. I will not stop now. Now that I am going to have even more freee time on my hands soon, I am going to proactively start to make this change so that I can spend that time on something that makes me feel GOOD and PROUD and happy instead of the thing that brings me nothing but shame and guilt- feelings that I’m done bringing onto myself.

No "handpays" and no jackpots. Crazy shit is i made most of it on electronic blackjack. Since we dont have live tables. 5 out of the past 10 days i left up $500 cuz i stopped being greedy when i realized that im always up before im down tremendously. One day i left $1400 up. Another day i took an L of $400 and left. ( was alot more down, made 800 back and left said ill be back another day ) the next day i made back the $400 and won another $500. And yesterday. Between blackjack and firelink ( i put $20 got three bonuses back to back and left the slot with $1150) i left up $2400. Idk if ive been extemely fucking lucky this past week or so. Or am i successful because i stopped being greedy. Like i said i realized im always up a couple hundreds before i lose it all. And i decided i should leave when im up 3-400 before i destruct... anyway. All credit cards And rent for this month are now paid off. And im back to $500 in my pocket which is around what ive been walking in there with. So i know i cant fuck this up. Possible Solution

Install the Android 14 Beta. I've been on it one day and so far I haven't had the issue come back. It still could and then I'd be stuck on the beta which is a bit laggy at the moment. I'll keep this post updated.
Has anyone else experienced these issues on Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro (possible Pixel 6, from my research) tried this?
If you're experiencing the same issue and almost out of your return window, maybe try this and then wipe if it doesn't work and you want to return it? If you have had the issue for a long time and are fed up, maybe try?
Note that you cannot rollback to Android 13 without wiping your data, and the beta could potentially break other things, like calling. Although, other things breaking has so far not been my experience. I've only experienced some lag spikes, like opening the camera app. Luckily we're in beta 2 and not developer preview 1.

Problem

My brand new Pixel 7 had issues after charging overnight - YouTube would get stuck at loading and never play, attempting to play other native app videos would result in my phone hanging until I gave up - I'd miss most of my alarms since the clock app crashed and didn't ring, listing the alarms in the clock app during the bugged state would show nothing - the filesystem was bugged and screenshots didn't always save - changing my ringtone or the volume of the ringtone in the settings causes the settings app to crash - the camera app shows a grayed out shutter button and wouldn't take pictures after a fraction of a second opening the app - opening many apps that request the camera would crash as soon as they did - if an app using the camera crashed, Google Assistant would say the microphone was in use and the flashlight would say similarly for the camera - calling still worked but sometimes it wouldn't ring or vibrate when I have it set to do both - System UI has stopped responding with seemily no trigger

Previous Attempts

I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps I could think of (resetting, updating, removing developer options, disabling accessibility services, uninstalling apps, resetting app data and reinstalling apps, disabling Google Assistant, etc.) and even RMA'ed the phone three times. The only thing that worked until I joined Android 14 Beta was to restart my phone each time, but it happens the next morning after an overnight charge. I almost accepted daily restarts as an annoyance, but my alarm didn't ring in the morning before I could wake up and restart my device.
Google Pixel, Google Fi, and Google Play support were all unhelpful in fixing this issue. I have been transferred all around their support system. It's been hours of calling, chatting, and emailing. I've been on hold for an hour while someone reads my previous correspondence and then hang up and call me back at 3am. I've had Google Fi insist on sending me to Google Play support and Google Play support saying they can't help with system issues. Nightmare. During this time I reproduced the bug by migrating my phone three times to new or refurbished Pixels and updating to the April and May security updates. A complete wipe with no migration, no system update or even connecting to the internet does work, however.
TL;DR: Android 14 Beta so far has been smoother than daily restarts for my affected Pixel 7. I'm hoping the trend continues and can be recommended as a fix if it works for enough people.

I am the parent of a non-verbal 4 year old sensory seeking autistic girl. She has always been very happy up until the last couple of months. She spends most of her days crying or otherwise wailing. She no longer has much interest in anything. I find that taking her out on a bike results in respite but only for the duration of the journey. I can no longer take her anywhere and when she is at nursery I am called to take her home because she is so disregulated (although no more than she is at home). I am miserable and all my efforts are spent attempting to minimise her sadness. To the detriment of my 7 year old son who is becoming depressed because i have very little time available to spend with him now. We live in the UK so currently awaiting placement following the processing of her EHCP. Does anyone have any advice?

Please read my novel...
I've been having vulva issues for more than three months and I've been to the gynecologist five times. I'm starting to really not want to be alive anymore.
I went on vacation to Disney World, came back, and all of this started. My vulva/labia/clit area felt really irritated. I went to the Urgent Care because I was pretty scared to go to a gyno, I'd never been before. They had me do a urine culture, they said it was BV (can you tell that from a urine culture?), and gave me antibiotics. These didn't really help but they for sure gave me a yeast infection. I called back and they gave me a fluconazole. It didn't help. They give me 4 more fluconazole taken 3 days apart, those did not help. At this point, I figured I needed to woman up and see a gyno.
I go to the gyno, terrified. I get a NP who is very nice and does my first ever exam. She does swabs and cultures, it all comes back negative for UTI, whatever else. Just yeast. She gives me ointments and terconazole that is supposed to kill different types of yeast. I do that for three days. After the three days, right back to yeast city. She also told me to take probiotics, so I started taking Nordic Naturals probiotic.
I go back to her again. She says, OK, now try boric acid suppositories. I have never put anything like that up there and struggled to do so. Did that for two weeks. I start seeing red, watery discharge and the area still hurts, maybe more so now. I go back to the gyno. She sees sores up there now, right where I was putting in the boric acid. I think I wasn't pushing it in far enough honestly. She says, no it's herpes. Let me clarify- I've never had sex, I've never had a cold sore, nothing. She swabs the open sore and sends it off. She also sends me to get tested for herpes at Quest.
Results come back- swab negative, blood work positive. They put me on valacyclovir for a month. The sore heals but nothing else changes. At this point, I've changed to unscented/ hypoallergenic products and detergent, wearing dresses with no underwear or cotton, white underwear, stopped eating sugar and carbs, everything the interest tells me to do. Still yeast, still pain and redness, starting to get little cuts up there. I go to my GP because I'm sure I have oral thrush too. She says yes I do, and gives my an oral antifungal rinse and MORE fluconazole. My feet start swelling and stinging. Apparently, now I am allergic to fluconazole and am told to stop taking it. My feet go back to normal.
I go back to the NP. She starts acting like I'm crazy, saying its just going to take time and to take probiotics. Gives me more steroid creams. Says I may need pelvic floor therapy. At this point, I demand to see an actual gyno. They say the doctors don't see you unless you need surgery. I say I'm finding a new practice if I can't see a doctor. Finally, they agree.
I go back in, see a doctor's assistant who says, "Look, let's start over." She says the sores may not have been herpes related at all, not to continue with the valacyclovir. We need to take skin samples and do a full exam and a pap. I'm completely freaked out by all of this. They said they can put me under to do it, in a month and a half because they're busy. The thought of living like this for a month and a half is INSANE.
So 10 days ago, I decide maybe I need to be way for aggressive with the probiotics. I started taking two Smidge Optimal probiotics in the AM and two RePhresh probiotics in the PM. I start taking grapefruit seed extract, garlic supplements, multivitamins. Then I have my period. Now it's three days after my period, and I have no white discharge. That's huge. But it's still really red and raw and it stings.
Am I missing something? Am I not saying the right thing to these doctors? Help a sister please.

Understanding Anxiety

According to the American Psychological Association (APA), Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts, and physical changes like increased blood pressure.
People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry. They may also have physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, dizziness, or a rapid heartbeat.
Anxiety is not the same as fear, but they are often used interchangeably. Anxiety is considered a future-oriented, long-acting response broadly focused on a diffuse threat, whereas fear is an appropriate, present-oriented, and short-lived response to a clearly identifiable and specific threat.
In my own words, anxiety is something that we all could possibly experience. We may be experiencing it right now, but we don’t know that it’s actually anxiety and maybe we’re just nervous or rather, something else far more serious.
It is natural to feel anxious from time to time. People with anxiety disorders, on the other hand, usually experience strong, excessive, and persistent concern and terror about ordinary events. Anxiety disorders sometimes feature recurring bouts of acute anxiety, dread, or terror that reach a climax within minutes (panic attacks). Anxiety and panic disrupt everyday activities, are difficult to regulate, out of proportion to the real risk, and can linger for a long period. To escape unpleasant sensations, you may avoid locations or circumstances. Symptoms may appear in childhood or adolescence and persist throughout maturity.
Anxiety disorders are a collection of mental health illnesses characterized by emotions of dread, concern, and apprehension that are excessive and persistent. The following are only some of the several forms of anxiety disorders:
  1. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): You may have generalized anxiety disorder if you frequently worry for no apparent cause. GAD indicates that you are continually worried and unable to manage your worrying. GAD is diagnosed by healthcare experts when you worry on most days for at least 6 months. Worrying about your health, money, family, or work may be something you're so used to that you assume it's simply "how you are." While everyone worries about these things now and again, expecting the worse might make it difficult to live a regular life.
GAD symptoms might occur as a side effect of medication or drug usage. It may also be associated with medical diseases that elevate hormones, such as hyperthyroidism. This might cause the body to become more excitable. Family or environmental stress might set off the specified anxiety disorder. It can also be triggered by chronic sickness or disease.
  1. Panic Disorder: Recurrent and sudden panic attacks describe panic disorder. Panic attacks are unexpected bouts of acute anxiety or discomfort accompanied by physical symptoms such as a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, shaking, and a fear of losing control or dying. People suffering from panic disorder frequently live in terror of having another panic episode.
Panic attacks usually start quickly and without notice. They may happen at any time, whether you're driving, in the mall, asleep, or in the middle of a business meeting. You may get panic episodes on occasion or on a regular basis.
  1. Social Anxiety Disorder: Social anxiety disorder is characterized by an acute fear of social interactions as well as a worry of being criticized or humiliated by others. People who suffer from social anxiety may avoid or experience considerable difficulty during social encounters. It can have a substantial influence on a person's ability to participate in daily activities or maintain relationships.
A person suffering from social anxiety disorder may have a mild, moderate, or severe case. Some persons with social anxiety only have symptoms in one sort of setting, such as eating in front of others or performing in front of others, but others have symptoms in numerous or all forms of social contact.
  1. Specific Phobias: One of the primary criteria for identifying a phobia is that it is life-limiting in nature.2 Depending on the nature of your fear, you may find it difficult to do errands, go out with friends, or even make it to work every day. To put it another way, a certain phobia can have a huge impact on your education, profession, and general quality of life.
The out-of-control sensation is one of the most distressing emotional aspects of a phobia. You may recognize that your fear is unreasonable and/or overwhelming, yet no matter how hard you try, you are unable to overcome it. You are not alone if you imagine what your life would be like if you could just go about your everyday activities without fear of encountering that certain thing or event.
  1. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): It is a mental disease in which you have recurring unwanted thoughts and feelings (obsessions) that lead you to conduct repetitive activities (compulsions). Repeated activities can drastically disrupt social relationships and everyday work. Obsessions are persistent, unwelcome, and intrusive thoughts that lead to repetitive behavioral or mental acts (compulsions) aimed at decreasing anxiety or averting a dreaded result. Obsessions and compulsions may drastically disrupt daily living.
Everyone has obsessions and compulsions at some time in their lives. It's normal to double-check the stove or the locks, for example. People also casually use the terms "obsessing" and "obsessed" in regular discussions. However, OCD is more severe. It can consume hours of a person's time. It interferes with daily life and activities. Obsessions in OCD are unwelcome, and persons with OCD dislike engaging in obsessive activities.
  1. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): PTSD can develop because of seeing or experiencing a stressful incident. Intrusive thoughts, nightmares, flashbacks, and acute emotional discomfort are all symptoms. Individuals suffering from PTSD may also avoid reliving the event and exhibit hyperarousal symptoms such as anger, hypervigilance, and an increased startle reaction.
Symptoms may occur within one month of a stressful experience, but they may not appear until years afterwards. These symptoms produce substantial challenges in social or occupational settings, as well as in relationships. They can also impair your capacity to carry out your routine everyday responsibilities. There are four categories of PTSD symptoms: intrusive memories, avoidance, unfavorable changes in thought and attitude, and changes in physical and emotional reactions. Symptoms may change over time or from person to person.
  1. Separation Anxiety Disorder: Separation anxiety disorder is most common in youngsters and is defined by extreme worry over being separated from parents or caregivers. When away from their attachment figures, children may suffer excessive concern, fear, or sadness and may display clinging behavior.
It is natural to feel anxious when away from security items and comfort zones. Around the age of three to four, social anxiety can become a significant issue. When separation anxiety becomes excessive and starts interfering with regular activities like going to school or work, it is conceivable that these natural fears have progressed into a clinical case of separation anxiety disorder.
Although, it’s crucial to remember that these are only some of the primary anxiety disorders; people might have numerous anxiety disorders at the same time or have symptoms that don't fit neatly into one category. A skilled mental health practitioner should make a correct diagnosis and treatment strategy.

Anxiety is both a mental and physical state of negative anticipation, marked by heightened alertness and negative expectations compounded into concern and manifested physically by the activation of many body systems, all to aid in coping with an unknown or bad scenario.
It is a defensive state ruled over by fear nerve circuits and triggered by misinterpretation or overestimation of threats from the environment, the interior world of the body, or the inner world of cognition. Anxiety is a normal reaction to danger, and the discomfort it causes is intended to draw attention and motivate a defensive response. Too frequently, however, the anxiety is excessive, prolonged, or inappropriate to what triggered it, and it interferes with daily functioning—or puts in motion maladaptive behaviors, ranging from avoidance of threat-generating circumstances to drug use, to alleviate the pain of worry.
Scientifically speaking, When the amygdala recognizes incoming information as a threat—or, due to hyperreactivity, rushes to that conclusion even when there is no threat—it emits an alarm, alerting many other parts of the brain to prepare for protective action. It acts as though your life is in danger. The signal is relayed neural and hormonally by the hypothalamus, triggering the stress reaction. The heart rate rises. The heart rate increases. Breathing becomes more rapid. Areas of the brain stem activate, putting you on high alert and attentiveness. The hippocampus, or memory center, uses prior experience to try to contextualize the nature of the threat. The prefrontal cortex, which receives all of the information needed to make a coherent interpretation of events and orchestrate an appropriate behavioral response, has the ability to reduce or enhance the perception of threat and degree of discomfort. The amygdala effectively overpowers the prefrontal cortex in the anxious brain, whether due to overexcitability of the stress response system, activity of different neurochemicals, abnormalities in nerve circuitry, or inactivation of certain cell populations in the prefrontal cortex. (Psychology Today 2023).

Every individual has their own different types of ways on how to deal of this disorder whenever it strikes. I would like to share to all my fellow readers some ways of how I cope up with my anxiety and other people’s ideas that I found based on the internet.

  3. Keep a journal
  4. Aromatherapy
  5. Exercising/Working out
  6. Grounding Techniques
  7. Identify your triggers
  8. Therapy
  9. Meditate
  10. Socialize
  11. Staying active
  12. Eating correctly/Healthy Diet

An open conversation about anxiety experiences is critical for establishing understanding, empathy, and support among individuals. Anxiety is a widespread mental health illness that affects millions of people worldwide, and talking about our experiences may help break down the stigma associated with it and bring comfort to those who are experiencing similar difficulties. Remember that open conversation about anxiety should always promote sensitivity, respect, and secrecy. It is critical to establish an environment in which people feel secure and supported as they share their tales and problems.
To summarize, anxiety is a difficult and complex feeling that affects millions of individuals globally. It might feel overpowering and suffocating, but keep in mind that you are not alone. There are excellent coping methods and tools available to assist you in overcoming anxiety and regaining control of your life.
First and foremost, self-care is critical in anxiety management. Taking care of your physical health by exercising frequently, eating healthily, and sleeping sufficiently may have a big influence on your mental health. I was diagnosed with moderate ADHD-I 3 days ago, it was a mixed bag of emotions in the beginning. I was happy to have a reason for why I've been feeling the way I feel, but felt sad for the person before diagnosis. I know a lot of people feel similar.
I have a meeting with my therapist this week to discuss treatment options but I've been really suffering with getting anything started. Theoretically writing out lists with breaks built in have been optimal for me and help me see the most results but my issue is ... I cant sit down and write the list!!!
I even tried to write a list of ADHD symptoms I've noticed post-diagnosis and I got halfway through the first bullet point before my brain gave up.
How do you even begin to start anything?

I 60F have a daughter 34F that has 9 year old twins one boy and one girl. To make a long story short, he died suddenly. She had just started a job and he was able to put them on the bus and then get them off the bus for school. I said I would help her until she could make arrangements but I didn't want to be a permanent baby sitter. That was two years ago. During this time she now receives $3000 a month for the kids since the passing of the father plus she makes $40,00 a year at her job. She is now living with another man that makes $50000 a year. I babysit all day everyday and I feel lucky if she pays me $100 very 4-6 weeks. Aita for expecting to be paid a reasonable rate? I only make $36000 a year and can't afford to keep buying groceries and entertainment for the kids. I wanted to travel not spend my savings and my time babysitting. When I bring it up she says I don't love the kids, she can't afford it, I'm awful for wanting paid, I'm just concerned with money . So aita?
